PDAC: AI in Construction: Reshaping the Workforce

Description

Professional Development Advisory Council (PDAC) will host an evening panel discussion focused on one of the most pressing shifts in the construction industry: the growing role of artificial intelligence and its impact on the workforce. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at AECOM, located at 605 3rd Avenue, 2nd Floor, New York, New York. 

As AI technologies continue to advance and integrate into project planning, design, and execution, construction professionals across all levels are being forced to confront a new set of questions. This panel brings together industry leaders who are actively working at the intersection of construction and emerging technology. 

Featured panelists include: 

•Dareen Salama, Co-Founder and CEO of Gryps 

•Cindy Ly, Principal Consultant at Procore 

•Danielle O’Connell, Senior Director of Emerging Technology at Skanska 

•Ana Dudarenko, Associate Director at Turner & Townsend 

Each brings a practical perspective shaped by real-world implementation, offering attendees insight into how AI is currently being applied and where it is likely to have the greatest impact moving forward. 

The discussion will focus on demystifying AI within a construction context. Rather than abstract concepts, panelists will address tangible applications, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges the industry faces. Topics will include current use cases, limitations of existing tools, and the evolving structure of construction teams as new roles and skill sets emerge. This event is designed to provide clarity at a time when the pace of technological change can feel overwhelming. Attendees will leave with a more grounded understanding of how AI is shaping the industry and how they can position themselves within this evolving landscape.
